Genotype analysis in children with Autism suggests involvement of 100’s of genes; no single gene is associated with any more than a small component of ASD cases; about twenty genes show strong correlation with ASD, about half of these genes are involved with epigenetic function including transcription factors. Epigenetic drugs targeting DNA methylation and histone deacetylationenzymes & TrichostatinA are able to reverse abnormal gene expression profiles from pathogenesis to potential therapy.
